Reddy Scarf (Real Easy, Quick and Soft)
By Berta
GilholmIntro: This scarf came about from the leftover red yarn I made the Red Button Hat out of. The hat and scarf were a gift for my sister, who went on dialysis and was telling me how cold it was in the medical center where she received treatments in January. Of course I also gave her an afghan I had made and some magazines. She's doing great now and is learning to do her own dialysis at home. It did my heart good when she said that, this was the first time anyone made something special for only her. I'm so proud of her; she raised three children, lost her youngest to liver disease and her husband to cancer. She deserved the gifts, don't you think...

The Reddy Scarf Pattern can be made with the Red Heart Super Saver Yarn called Cherry. You can buy it at JoAnn's, Michaels, Herschnners.com, Yarn Warehouse or at the Red Heart Shop (usually at a discount) www.redheart.com
DeleteThe Frog Cocoon yarn isn't made any more. The Lime and Green yarn is no longer available. The solid is a worsted weight #4, I would use a solid lime color, check at red heart while you're there, they have a lot of colors or check the brights on any yarns. I bought the boucle at Joann's called Sensations Rainbow Boucle, they have a Green/Cream that would work, it is 11 oz. and plenty to make the cocoon. Or if all else fails get a muti ww yarn in greens and a solid to match the darkest color. Hope this helps, Birdie
I can not find the lime and white yarn to make this frog cocoon. Could you tell me where to get it?

I just looked through my yarn links and Joann doesn't have the yarn I suggested, but, I found a very close match at Bernat.com, called Baby Coordinates (color -Sprite) If you want a brighter stripe effect, add some white and I think it would be beautiful and very soft for the baby. Birdie
