Just Crochet/Craft Idea's: It's been a very long time since I have posted anything to my Blog. Due to family and life in general, I got a little detoured. I will try to get time to type up some new entries. I have created a lot of items, gave them away and did not take pictures or type them up. We lost both of our boys this year. Jiggy in March and Stubby in July. We have a new friend her name is MayBee (due to the fact that we weren't quite sure about keeping her). She's 4 years old and full of energy. I make her Kitty Strings with yarn, it was such a hit, I donated some to the local animal shelter. I'll try to put them on the Blog next week. As usual, if you have questions about crafting or crochet, I will answer them under the post where you leave the comment. Thanks for stopping by. Birdie

Beaver Tail Scarf

Beaver Tail Scarf

Size:  76 in. long x 3 ¾ to 4 in. wide

Materials:
Bernat Harmony (#5 bulky) 100% Acrylic/3.5 oz. -100g in Jet Black (2 skein)
Bernat Boa (#5 bulky) 100% Polyester/3.5 oz. -100g in Raven (2 skein)
Crochet Hook - Size J-10
Yarn Needle
2 – Fancy Pony Tail Holders
Gauge:  Is not important.
Notes: If you want the scarf wider add one row of row 2. 4 dc at beginning of rows counts as first dc and ch 1 space of the row.
Stitch Abbreviation: Ch = chain, Sc = single crochet, Slst = slipstitch, Dc = double crochet.
Center Scarf Area Pattern: With  Harmony, ch 164
Row 1: Dc in 6th ch from hook (counts as first dc and ch 1 space), *ch 1, skip next ch, dc in next ch; repeat from * across, turn (80 ch 1 spaces across row).
Mark row 1 for right side of work.
Row 2: Ch 4, skip next ch 1 space, *dc in next dc, ch 1, skip next ch 1 space, repeat from * across, end with dc in 4th ch of beginning ch.
Row 3: Ch 4, skip first ch 1 space, *dc in next dc, ch 1, skip next ch 1 space; repeat from * across, end with dc in 3rd ch of turning ch.
Row 4 - 5: Repeat Row 3, Fasten off weave in ends.
Boa Rows: (Work with 2 strands of Boa held together)
Attach Boa to the right side of the scarf, you will work across this side back and forth on every row. When instructed to turn, turn work clockwise or counter clockwise so that you can work back across the right side for the each row.
Row 1: Join yarn with sc around post of first st of row (the turning ch stitch), ch 1, sc around post of same st, *sc around post of next st in same row, ch 1, repeat from * across row, sc in last dc.
Row 2 - 5: Ch 1, turn, Repeat Row 2 until scarf section is covered with Boa, Fasten off weave in ends.
Beaver Tails: (can make this area wider by switching to a K-10.5 hook)
Repeat this part of pattern on each end of the Center Scarf Area.
Join Harmony with a slst to corner edge of one row end, on right side facing of center Scarf piece.
Working in sides of row ends
Row 1: Sc in same space, *dc in next stitch, sc in next stitch, repeat from * across, dc in last corner stitch, ch 1, turn (10 stitches)
Row 2: Sc in same space, *dc in next sc, sc in next dc,  repeat from * across, dc in last corner stitch, ch 1, turn
Rows 3 – 32: Repeat row 2, then fasten off and weave in ends.
Finish: Take 2 fancy rubber/woven pony tail holders and double over, slide one onto each beaver tail and anchor where center and tail joins on scarf.
