NOTES OF INTEREST:

Just Crochet/Craft Idea's: It's been a very long time since I have posted anything to my Blog. Due to family and life in general, I got a little detoured. I will try to get time to type up some new entries. I have created a lot of items, gave them away and did not take pictures or type them up. We lost both of our boys this year. Jiggy in March and Stubby in July. We have a new friend her name is MayBee (due to the fact that we weren't quite sure about keeping her). She's 4 years old and full of energy. I make her Kitty Strings with yarn, it was such a hit, I donated some to the local animal shelter. I'll try to put them on the Blog next week. As usual, if you have questions about crafting or crochet, I will answer them under the post where you leave the comment. Thanks for stopping by. Birdie

Rings of Love Blanket

Rings of Love Baby Blanket
By Berta Gilholm

Yeah!  Another Great Grand Baby on the way, this will be #6 for me. The baby is due in January 2013, so, I don’t know whether it will be a boy or girl yet? This blankie is for a Girl (ladies first), and I’ll be working on a Boys blankie as soon as I think of a theme.
Materials:
(A) Department 71, Krinkle, ww #4, 100% Acrylic 3.5 oz./100g – 2 in White.
(B) Adrienne Vittadini, Bettina, 45% Viscose, 35% Nylon, 20% Linen, 50g/87 yds - 2 in light green.
(C) Bernat LuLu, ww  #4, 100 % Nylon 1.75 oz./50g - 2 in a very light peach or orange.
All of the yarns were stash yarns, but, you can substitute any worsted weight (scrunchy, krinkle or fashion yarn) for (A) and (B) and any Terry type yarn for (C).
Crochet Hook size K/10.5, 6.5mm
Yarn Needle and Stitch Marker

Note: Work in rounds and mark the beginning of each round. It can be difficult to see stitches with these materials, so use your touch to feel the stitches if you have problems. If you would like smaller openings around the baby ring  row, thread your needle with (A) and tack the sides of the baby rings together with a few whip stitches, weaving in ends, all the way around (this will spread out the rings and give you less open space in the center design).
Abbreviations: Ch = chain, Jwslst = join with slip stitch to first st of row, Sc = single crochet, Dc = double crochet, Tc = triple crochet, Cl = cluster, St = stitch, FO = fasten off, Rnd = round.
Special Stitches:
V stitch = 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc all in next stitch.
DC Cluster =  yarn over and draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook, do this three times, all in the same space, yarn over and draw through all four loops on the hook.
Baby Rings: On the next row you’re working on, Ch 5, jwslst in same stitch as ch on the row (ring formed), turn work clockwise so that the ring is on your left, working around the ring, sc 8 times around the ring (turning as you go), slst in the next 3 stitches on the row where you made the ring. If you want more rings on the row (count 4 stitches for each repeat).

Pattern:
With (A) Ch 5, jwslst to form a ring,
Rnd 1: Ch 1, Sc 12 times in ring, jwslst
Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in same sc, *2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc, Repeat * around, jwslst (18 sc)
