Just Crochet/Craft Idea's: It's been a very long time since I have posted anything to my Blog. Due to family and life in general, I got a little detoured. I will try to get time to type up some new entries. I have created a lot of items, gave them away and did not take pictures or type them up. We lost both of our boys this year. Jiggy in March and Stubby in July. We have a new friend her name is MayBee (due to the fact that we weren't quite sure about keeping her). She's 4 years old and full of energy. I make her Kitty Strings with yarn, it was such a hit, I donated some to the local animal shelter. I'll try to put them on the Blog next week. Gray Flapper Hat

What do you get when you put an urge for a new hat and some leftover gray yarn together?
By the way those leftover gourds sure come in handy!

Gray Flapper Hat

Materials:
Patons Classic Wool Roving Bulky -100% wool, 3.5 oz./100gm, Grey
Small amount (about  3 yards) of any ww#4 dark gray or drk color of your choice
Crochet Hook USK/10.5 – 6.5mm
Yarn Needle

Instructions:
Make a magic ring or Ch 2 and slst in second ch from hook to make a ring.
Row 1: Ch 1, 7 sc in ring, do not join rounds, work in a spiral through out, Mark next stitch as first stitch on each round moving up as you work.
Row 2: Ch 1in first st of next spiral and move marker, 2 sc in each sc around (12 sc)
Row 3: Ch 1 in first st of next spiral sc in same st, and move marker, *2 sc in next sc, repeat from * around, (18 sc)
Row 4: Ch 1 in first st of next spiral sc in same st, and move marker, *sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat from * around, (24 sc)
Row 5: Ch 1 in first st of next spiral sc in same st, and move marker, *sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat from * around,  (30 sc)
Row 6: Ch 1 in first st of next spiral sc in same st, and move marker, *sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat from * around,  (36 sc)
Row 7: Ch 1 in first st of next spiral sc in same st, and move marker, *sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat from * around,  (42 sc)
Row 8: Ch 1 in first st of next spiral sc in same st, and move marker, *sc in next 6 sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat from * around,  (48 sc)
Row 9: Ch 1 in first st of next spiral sc in same st, and move marker, *sc in next 7 sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat from * around,  (54 sc)
Row 10 through 13: Ch 1 in first st of next spiral and move marker, *sc in each sc around,  (54 sc)
Row 14 through 18: Ch 1 in first st of next spiral and move marker, *hdc in each hdc around,  (54 hdc)
Row 19: Ch 1 in first st of next spiral and move marker,  hdc in first 25 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc, hdc in next  25 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc, hdc in last 2 hdc,   (56 hdc)
Row 20: Ch 1 in first st of next spiral and move marker, dc in first hdc, *sc in next hdc, dc in next  hdc, Repeat from * around, sc in last hdc,   (28 dc + 28 sc for Griddle stitch pattern)
Row 21: Ch 1 in first st of next spiral and move marker, sc in first dc, *dc in next sc, sc in next  dc, Repeat from * around, dc in last sc,   (28 dc + 28 sc for Griddle stitch pattern)
Row 22: Ch 1 in first st of next spiral and move marker, dc in first sc, *sc in next dc, dc in next  sc, Repeat from * around, sc in last dc,   (28 dc + 28 sc for Griddle stitch pattern) Fasten off and weave in ends.
Hat Band: With Dark Gray thread the yarn needle with 2 yards,
Using doubled yarn, sew a whip stitch around the hat 2 times in and out of stitches between row 18 and 19, fasten off and weave in ends. 
Cut 12, 4 ½” length’s of the dark gray and hand tie them with a knot around the first 8 hdc stitches of row 19, trim the ends to about 1” and leave uncut like fringe.
