Dust Buster for Mop or Broom Handle

Materials: Worsted Weight Leftovers #4
Eyelash, Pom Pom or Fun Fur Yarn LeftoversCrochet Hook (5.5mm, US I or 9)
Gauge with size I hook: 10 sc = 3’’, 9 sc rows = 3’’
Approximately 10 inches tall
Note: I made 2 different designs “Tube & Side-to-side”, both fit well on handles, the Side to side works up quicker. I used pink & turquoise (ww) with lime eyelash/pom for the tube and navy (ww) with lavender eyelash on the side to side.
Tube: With Turquoise, Ch 12
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, join to first ch with a slst, (12 sc)
Row 2: Work in back loops, Ch 1, Sc in each sc around, join to first sc with a slst (12 sc)
Rows 3 - 9: Repeat Row 2 (7 times) Fasten off Turquoise, Join Pink
Row 10 - 24: Repeat row 2 (15 times) Fasten off Pink
Row 25: Join Eyelash/pom in last st worked and ch 1, sc in same st, *ch 11, sc in same sc, ch 11, sc in next sc, repeat from * 11 times for 12 ch loops, working in same row **ch 11, sc in same sc, ch 11, skip next sc, sc in next sc, repeat from ** 5 times, (ch 2, skip 2 sc, sc in next sc 4 times – this slightly closes the end of the tube) Fasten off leaving an 8 inch tail and with a yarn needle weave the tail in and out of last stitches, pull tight and knot off
Place on broom/mop handle to remove Cobwebs and dust from ceilings, doors, bookcase tops, etc. Shake and wash when dirty.
Side-to-side: With Navy Ch 45
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, Sc in each ch across, turn (44 sc)
Row 2: Ch 1, Sc in each stitch across, turn
Row 3: Ch 1, Sc in first sc, sc in next sc, *ch 1, skip next sc, sc in next sc, repeat from * across, turn
Row 4: Ch 1, Sc in each sc and each ch across, turn (44 sc)
Row 5 - 6 & 7 - 8: Repeat row 3 and 4
Row 9: Repeat row 4 (44 sc)
Fasten off and leaving a tail 2 ½ times the length of the row width, whip stitch, row 9 and the first Chain row together. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Loop Row: Using 1 strand of navy and 1 strand of lavender eyelash held together join yarns in last st worked and ch 1, sc in same st, *ch 11, sc in same space, ch 11, sc in next space, repeat from * 9 times for 10 ch loops, working in same row **ch 11, sc in same space, ch 11, sc in next space, repeat from ** 6 times, (ch 2, skip 1 sc, sc in next sc, 3 times – this slightly closes the end of the tube) Fasten off leaving an 8 inch tail and with a yarn needle weave the tail in and out of last stitches, pull tight and knot off (you can do intermittent ch 2 sections around the broom handle cover, up and down the rows for more dusting area).
Place on broom/mop handle to remove Cobwebs and dust from ceilings, doors, bookcase tops, etc. Shake and wash when dirty.
