NOTES OF INTEREST:

Just Crochet/Craft Idea's: It's been a very long time since I have posted anything to my Blog. Due to family and life in general, I got a little detoured. I will try to get time to type up some new entries. I have created a lot of items, gave them away and did not take pictures or type them up. We lost both of our boys this year. Jiggy in March and Stubby in July. We have a new friend her name is MayBee (due to the fact that we weren't quite sure about keeping her). She's 4 years old and full of energy. I make her Kitty Strings with yarn, it was such a hit, I donated some to the local animal shelter. I'll try to put them on the Blog next week. As usual, if you have questions about crafting or crochet, I will answer them under the post where you leave the comment. Thanks for stopping by. Birdie

BUSHY BOA, crochet

What's Fluffy and Pink?   The new Boa's for my Granddaughter's/Daughter's I love the way these came out. They're soft and swingy and hang beautifully! You could make them in green, red, white or blue for Christmas. Enjoy!

BUSHY BOA

By Berta Gilholm

Materials:
(MC) Bernat Softee Baby, DK weight #3 (5 oz./140gm, approx. 395 yds/361mm) I used prettiest pink.
(Fur) 2 skeins any Eyelash or Fur Yarn (1.76 oz./50gm approx. 55 yds/50gm) I used varigated pinks.
Crochet hook size US I/9, 5.5mm
Yarn needle

Stitch abbreviations: Ch = chain, Sc = single crochet, Slst = slip stitch

Note: Gauge is not important for this item. For main rows use 1 strand of  MC by working across row, then chains are worked using 1 strand MC(Main Color) and 1 strand Fur held together around corners and across boa. Boa is approximately 70 inches long, shorten or lengthen by adding or decreasing base chain row by 4 ch for each inch.

Pattern:
With 1 strand MC Ch 180
Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook, sc in each ch across to end “Do not fasten off or turn” join Fur in last sc worked
Now working around the corner with ch loops:
Round/row 2: With 1 strand MC and 1 strand Fur together, ch 1, sc in same sc, ch 10, sc in corner stitch, ch 10, sc in first stitch of base ch row, *ch 10, sc in next ch, repeat * across to end of row, working around corner ch 10 sc in end of row, ch 10, sc in each sc across to end of row, slst in first ch 1, fasten off and weave in ends.

    1. I used the standard Google Blog layout, First,I wanted to share my creativity Free, sometimes I put free pattern sites, free contests or free E-book links on my blog; and I know the yarn, pattern, etc. companies get advertising, of a sort by me supplying links. But, it's the free stuff I like. On the standard Blog, you have all kinds of designing tools. Once you sign up, go to create your design and pick colors for every part of your layout, add pictures, foreground colors, background colors, quips, then post away, thanks for the interest and compliment. Good Luck, Birdie
